Given her observations of and experience with her parents, it must be clearly stated (sad, but true) that neither of Domina's parents exploited or exposed her inappropriately in any form or manner to their lifestyle choices or practices and, most certainly, in terms of sexuality or sensuality.

From 1975, being a bit of a boundary-pusher, Domina dabbled in & out of the swing and SM scene on her own. She was blessed to have a wonderful and loving gay man in her life who was a co-worker and was also her roommate from 1984 through 1986. He introduced her to what was the still a very underground gay leather scene in San Francisco.

After those initial forays into the leather/SM clubs, bars and parties, Domina's parents found out and took the time to finally explain some of details of the dynamics of their dominant and submissive relationship, as well as a bit about the nature of their personal relationship that kept things "fresh", including their enjoyment of some SM fetishes.

As an adult, in 1989, Domina knew she was a Dominant and Sadist. She took on the dominant persona and name, "Domina DeManda", but it wasn't until 1996 that she had a revelation for herself that changed the course of her life. Although she had thought about partnering with a Dominant in life and love, Domina had several long term relationships with wonderful people who were either submissive or just "vanilla" over the years that left her feeling like something was still "missing". Through the demise of several relationships, she was able to clearly distinguish the difference for herself between domineering and dominance (at risk of being violently abused and used vs. ethically and lovingly being dominated and nurtured). This revelation unlocked the beauty of living a loving alternative lifestyle and what that could be and mean for her, in respect to the Power Exchange Dynamics of Dominance and submission (D/s).

In July of 1998, Domina met a wonderful, confident, stable, and caring Dominant and Sadist who balanced her life in ways she only had hoped could happen. Shaman AKA "Sir Kink" or "Daddy Jeff" became her one and only Master, Owner, Dominant, Sadist, and, eventually, in 2000, Beloved Husband.

Domina feels very fortunate that her Shaman encourages and has allowed her to fulfill her own natural Dominant and Sadistic traits (but only after she gave him the agreed 3, plus an additional 2 years of her in total submissive and subservient devotion and role to him - LOL!).  So in 2003, Shaman opened the doors for Domina to consider and take on her own "boys and girls" in a submissive role to her.

In truth, Domina does not actively search for anyone. However, the rare jewel and special "pet" has crossed her path to embrace her as their Dominant and Sadist.

"Over the years that I have served Shaman", Domina states, "our families, both blood and lifestyle, have been so loving and supportive of who we are, how we live, and what we do. We learn and grow every day as individuals, a couple, a family and an alternative household family thanks to their support."

Domina is committed to doing whatever she can to serve her Master and their family, as well as to nurture the members of their Household. She looks to Shaman as both a role model and Mentor. She will continue to work to make positive contributions in adult alternative lifestyles and their communities through her various and diverse efforts.

She hosts events and sometimes teaches classes at the Lifestyle Alternatives Artisans Centre, Guild & Gallery of Palm Beach (LAAC). Domina also does fetish modeling with Fetish Fires Fotography and Productions (FFF) or the Photo Artisans Guild (PAG), as well as travels to various alternative lifestyle events on occasion as a presenter or sponsor.

A workaholic, with a career that spanned 27+ years in "Silicon Valley", Domina launched several of her own businesses. Several of her businesses involved wholistic healing, including Kukui Onaona, a Bed and Breakfast and Seminar Retreat on the Island of Kauai in Hawaii. Her other personal businesses have supported adult alternative lifestyle choices and living. Holding various certifications in hypnotherapy and life coaching, as well as colour, light, and aroma therapies, she understands energy work and healing. So, it is not surprising that she enjoys the nurturing of body, mind, heart, abundance and spirit, finding it valuable to draw upon also in how she and Shaman live.

Domina's own Spirit is filled with her loving devotion to Shaman, their children, and their family, first and foremost. She is a loving mother to their "little master” and Master Shaman’s two children from a previous marriage (whenever they are visiting during school breaks). She is a loving "Mama or Mistress" to some members of their Household and her own personal "pet/s". She also enjoys being in a supportive role to the various alternative lifestyles communities that LAAC supports.

From day one of receiving her collar, following Domina’s purchase by Shaman (in the form of a house), marriage to Master Shaman (which resulted in the birth that followed of their own “little master”), the ownership agreement between Shaman and Domina, she has continued to evolve and find joy. Together, Shaman and Domina evaluate their relationship regularly to address ways to continue improving and growing as individuals and a couple, renegotiating some terms whenever they feel it may be necessary.
